Famous talk show host and interior decorator, Nate Berkus, has put his humble Manhattan, New York, abode for sale with an asking price of $699,000. Berkus had purchased the home in 2006 for around $550,000.
According to the listing records, the one bedroom-one bathroom home was built in 1889 and after Berkus purchased it, he renovated the place. Berkus' improvements included a redesigned modern kitchen, additions to the bathroom that now feature Carrera marble floors and white subway tiles. He also decorated the place with vintage hardware.
The home has beautiful large windows and custom made wire-glass doors. The place has complete painted hardwood flooring throughout. Living spaces include a living area and a dining area, combined. The bedroom and the living area have large custom built closets as well.
Check out the photos of the home, here.
The home was featured in 'O, The Oprah Magazine' while Berkus' other 3000 square feet duplex condo in Manhattan was featured in the Architectural Digest..
Excerpt from the Arch Digest reads:
"Berkus bought the apartment, in a 19th-century Greenwich Village building, in 2011, after a period of renting a loftlike space in a mod Jean Nouvel-designed tower overlooking the Hudson River. "I always had this New York fantasy of living in a glass high-rise," he says, adding that he relocated from Chicago three years ago to film The Nate Berkus Show (no longer in production)."
Berkus recently sold his Chicago condo for $1.6 million in January.
Berkus has his hands full now. Apart from hosting a new home makeover reality show "Renovation Nation," which will be produced and aired on NBC, he is also engaged to boyfriend, Jeremy Brent, Rachel Zoe's former assistant. He recently proposed to Brent at the top of Machu Picchu in Peru. He will probably move to a home in Hollywood Hills, which he and Brent purchased in 2012, reports Zillow.
