The largest ground-up commercial building in the Meatpacking District, 860 Washington Street, is to become the new home of the wellness real estate and technology firm, Delos.

"We are thrilled to make 860 Washington the new home of Delos' global corporate headquarters," said Paul Scialla, CEO and Founder of Delos. "As a company, our mission is to improve human health and wellness through building design and we are committed to making this new office space the healthiest and most productive work environment possible.  We believe we are setting a new standard for healthy office space not only in this building, but globally."

Delos is known for transforming homes, offices, schools, and other indoor environments by placing health and wellness at the center of design and construction decisions.

According to Real Estate Weekly, Delos is planning to pursue a WELL Certification through WELL Building Standard. WELL Building Standard is the first building standard that emphasizes on enhancement of people's health and wellbeing through the built environment. It is also a performance-based system for measuring, certifying, and monitoring features of the built environment that impact human health and wellbeing, through air, water, nourishment, light, fitness, comfort, and mind.

Green Business Certification Inc. (GBCI) is the organization that provides WELL Certification. They are also the one responsible for the certification of LEED Buildings around the world.

Jeffery Sussman, president of Property Group Partners, said that the 860 Washington is more than just a new commercial building.

"Located just steps from the Whitney Museum, in the heart of the city's most dynamic neighborhood," said Sussman. "860 Washington will offer an unmatched suite of functional and lifestyle amenities catering to tenants' day-to-day needs."
