"The Divergent Series: Allegiant" co-stars Shailene Woodley and Theo James have undeniably become extremely close. Throughout the past couple of years of the duo working together, it is just normal for the onscreen lovers to be comfortable with each other.
However, fans believe that Woodley and James' closeness may be causing problems to the latter's relationship with girlfriend Ruth Kearney. According to Movie News Guide, James and Kearney's relationship is not as strong as it used to be ever since reports started circulating that the former and Woodley may be more than just friends.
However, the "Divergent" co-stars have never responded to these issues, leading fans to speculate that something is really going on between them. According to Master Herald, James purposely avoided discussions regarding his off-screen relationship with Woodley.
"He doesn't really care about what people think of him right now with regards to his love life and professional relationships," the publication noted.
During a separate interview a few years back, James remained consistent with his answer regarding his personal life.
"I don't think I'd want to share those elements of my private life... I don't have it and I never will. Other actors I know are really good at it and they rock and roll it, but it's not for me," he said when asked why he doesn't have Twitter or Instagram.
In other news, fans recently had a first look at the upcoming third installment of the "Divergent" franchise. The clip released by Lionsgate featured Tris (Woodley) and Four (James) attempting to go beyond the mysterious Chicago walls.
The upcoming movie will also feature the death of Tris towards the end of the story, which book author Veronica Roth believes is a necessary part of the character's growth.
"The Divergent Series: Allegiant" will be released in theaters in the United States on Mar. 18, 2016.
