Bethesda has some interesting news for those who bought action-adventure first-person shooter game Wolfenstein: The New Order on or before May 26, 2014.
It has been known that Id Software has been working on a reboot of the first person shooter game "Doom." The last title of series was Doom 3 and it was released way back in 2004. The upcoming Doom 4 will reportedly be released for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Microsoft Windows sometime in 2016.
According to IGN, Doom publisher Bethesda Softworks says that those who were able to purchase Wolfenstein: The New Order on or before May 26, 2014, are qualified to sign up for Doom multiplayer closed alpha for as long as they meet the criteria depending on the gaming platform.
As written in Doom's website, "The DOOM MP Closed Alpha is a series of development-driven tests designed to stress test the game's dedicated server infrastructure in a real-world consumer environment. It is not the Beta (offered with Wolfenstein®: The New OrderTM pre-order), a demo, or representative of the final game."
The website added, "While the Beta and the full game will be available in multiple languages, the Closed Alpha is an English-only test."
Regardless of the platform, the selected players should receive an email from Bethesda containing instruction of how to redeem the access code for "Doom" closed alpha.
According to the website, the closed alpha gameplay features will include 1 industrial-themed multiplayer map called "Heatwave" that has plenty of armor, ammo, and health pickups. For the mode only the 6v6 team deathmatch will be accessible and through this mode, which is the core of DOOM's arena-style multiplayer combat two teams of 6 will battle against each other for victory.
The other features included are one demon (Revenant), one power weapon (gauss cannon). There will be six weapons available including the Vortex Rifle, Super Shotgun, Repeater, Rocket Launcher, Static Cannon, Plasma Rifle while there will only be two equipments, the Personal Teleporter and Frag Grenade.
For as long as the player meets the criteria, it may be worth the try. Are you ready for "Doom?"
