Almost a month ago, Realty Today featured an article about treehouses and how it has become a favorite hangout, not just among kids, but of adults as well. But this one is a totally different one. Yuka Yoneda, shared through her article in Inhabitat, that a zany and creepy hotel in Dalat, Vietmam, quite a unique treehouse actually, sits upon the branches of trees. The Hang Nga Guesthouse, also known as the " Crazy House " is a combination of a tree, concrete and other materials. This spooky hotel, according to Yoneda, is known for its Alice in Wonderland-ish, wildly organic twists and turns and its dark fairy tale theme.

Lonely Planet  describes that the Crazy House is the product of the imaginative work in progress of its owner Mrs Dang Viet Nga since 1990.  Inside the Crazy House, visitors can follow guides going up to ladders, nooks and crannies, and through tunnels.  It actually looks more like a gallery than a hotel, with giant animals, such as giraffe and spider, displayed and which doubles as a mini tea house. There are outdoor balconies and sculpture garden as well. The rooms are themed - like the monkey, tiger, kangaroo rooms and are connected by super slim- bridges and an excess of cascading lava-flow shapes.

Lonely Planet reports that Hang Nga started the Crazy House to encourage people back to nature. The owner has a PhD in architecture from Moscow and was responsible for the design of other buildings around Dalat . The 'House with 100 Roofs' was one of her masterpieces, but was eventually torn down as a fire hazard as the People's Committee viewed it as an antisocialist. Her father, Truong Chinh, was Vietnam's second president who served from 1981 to 1988 as Ho Chi Minh's successor. A shrine, in his honor, is found in the ground floor lounge of the Crazy House.
