"The Flash" Season 2 recently introduced a new character named Patty Spivot (Shantel VanSanten), who will also be Barry Allen's (Grant Gustin) new love interest.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, the actress recently dished on what fans can expect from her character and Barry/The Flash especially in the romance department.
"They connect through telling the same jokes and understanding each other, so moving forward there's a lot of nerdiness and scientific conversations. But she and Barry also work alongside each other on crime scenes, so solving things together will bring them closer, too," she said.
Meanwhile, VanSanten also dished on her character and Barry's impressive connection during the first time that they saw each other.
"Most women, if you ask, will say they want a man who makes them laugh, and that was the first way they really connected after she totally geeked out on him and his forensics reports in episode 2," she told TV Line.
The actress also shared a photo of herself with Gustin via her Instagram account.
"James Dean themed set selfies... Try to say that three times fast! #setlife with @grantgustin #theflash #PattySpivot," she wrote.
When asked if Patty will be okay with finding out that Barry and The Flash is one and the same person, the actress said that she wants her character to be okay with the revelation when the time comes.
In other news, it seems Patty and Barry are will not be the only couple on "The Flash" Season 2. Fans also believe that Teddy Sears' Jay Garrick will eventually become Caitlin Snow's (Danielle Panabaker) newest love interest.
"The two of them find themselves teaming up on whatever needs to be done to help defeat the villains. They also begin to share a closeness that neither one could have anticipated," he said.
"The Flash" Season 2 airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.
