After Barbie decided to go on a world tour with her Barbie Dreamhouse experience and a replica of the F.R.I.E.N.D.S apartment made of paper, IKEA, the Swedish furniture manufacturing company is the next entity to join the bandwagon of "miniscule". IKEA is introducing a range of furniture for dollhouses, according to several media reports.

The new range of dollhouse furniture, called the Huset Range, will not just be some small plastic pieces of dollhouse décor but will rather be modeled after the IKEA classics. The range will apparently include its bestselling designs like the Lack Table, The Klippan Sofa, the Vago Chair and the Expedit Shelving Unit, reports Dezeen.

What's more?

The furniture's packaging is quite interesting too. The boxes that the stuff comes in feature illustrations of wall clocks and picture frames that can be used to decorate the dollhouse as well! Other stuff like yoga mats and rugs are also included in the collection. Cost of the puny stuff will start from something around $19. The range will be available from August 2013, when IKEA launches its 2014 catalog.

"Until now, parents whose kids want to create a modern home for their toys have had to pay hundreds for miniature versions of home design classics. The Huset range takes some of the most popular products in our range and makes them available to everyone at pocket money prices," Carol McSeveney, Children's IKEA business leader, said to The Evening Telegraph.

"Whether Barbie needs a rug for her yoga or a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle needs somewhere to lounge after a hard day's crime-busting, this is furniture that would grace the home of any Disney princess," McSeveney added.

What else does IKEA have on its agenda?

IKEA is jumping in a week early to welcome summer in the U.S. that is officially said to start on June 21. It is organising a mid-summer meal buffet in its stores on June 14. Check out the exclusive menu here.
