Disney fans are in for another treat as one of its theme park ride will soon be having a movie adaptation.

According to ign.com, Jim Whitaker and Big Fish writer John August are going to produce the movie adaptation of "Tower of Terror" after they have come up with a concept story that Disney finds promising. The search for its screenplay writer is currently on- going.

The upcoming film will be focused on five people who disappeared in a hotel's elevator after a lightning struck the building. According to sources, the theme park is based Rod Serling's The Twilight Zone which originally happened in a "hotel elevator that drops rapidly." Also, a TV movie produced by Disney in 1997 was based on the Tower of Terror.

In a report by cinemablend.com, since of the announcement of the project, many are now thinking what will be the movie's rating or how intense the movie will be. Disney's most popular film series, the Pirates of Caribbean, received a PG- 13 rating despite of its "tame" nature so younger audiences can still enjoy the film.

The challenge now for the movie adaptation of "Tower of Terror" is that, it needs to convince the audience that it's scary enough for them to watch it on the big screens and tell others that it's worth to watch.

Due to its great reputation among Disneyland and Disneyworld visitors, producers are expecting a good opening especially on weekends. Disney is also known for investing a lot of money for trying something new and earn higher than they have spent and many are expecting that this might be Disney's next big hit.

The developers of "Tower of Terror" are trying to remove its affiliation with "the Twilight Zone" to create its own image and reputation as a Disney film. If the movie proved its success, it is expected to turn into a larger movie franchise.
