The "new Apple TV" is finally here. It has been two years since we have last heard about this device. For a company who managed to introduce a new phone every year, we could have expected the same attitude towards the Apple TV. Nonetheless, two years is fine, and now we can have access to the new "Apple TV 2015".

New Apple TV 2015 Price

According to TechRadar, the prices will be $149 and $199 for the 32 GB and 64GB respectively in the US. In the UK, that would be £129 and £169 and in Australia, the price is at $269 and $349.

New Apple TV 2015 Release

According to Apple CEO Tim Cook, you will be able to get your hands on their new device by next week. Apple has also started to accept app submissions for the new TV. However, it looks like the Apple TV isn't the only one of its kind to be released before holidays. Amazon will also launch the 4K Amazon Fire TV. Google also introduced the New Chromecast during its September 29 event.

New Apple TV Specs

So what's better in the new Apple TV? The processor is faster, the interface is improved, more apps are available, the remote is such an upgrade, and voice search functionality is enabled.

The tvOS used in the device works like iOS and OSX and there are millions of developers working on the platform. Meaning, you can expect that on the first day, tons of apps will be readily available. tvOS will also support Siri and universal search results. This means that you would be able to search across multiple streaming video services, without the need to search individually per app.

As to the remote, we can say goodbye to the old boring aluminum IR. The "new Apple TV" remote control will pack some Wii-like motion sensors. There are also rumors that suggest that you can connect console controllers to the TV if the new remote can't do the job for you, all through Bluetooth. There will also be a mic on the remote so Siri can be accessed easily.

Inside the "new Apple TV" is a 64 bit A8 processor, which is way more powerful than the last Apple TV processor. The "new Apple TV" will support Bluetooth 4.0 and 802.11 ac WiFi with MIMO. Bluetooth support is necessary for the function of the new remote.
