Former NFL All-Pro Bowler Jevon Kearse, who terrorized quarterbacks during his rookie season in 1999 with 14.5 sacks, is now looking for a potential buyer for his mansion in Pompano Beach, FL. The property went into foreclosure in 2013.
The 6,064-square-foot Mediterranean-style home of the three-time NFL Pro Bowler is now priced at $4 million. Kearse, known as "the freak" for his amazing athletic ability, bought the home in 2004 for $6,051,500, after signing a $66 million deal with the Eagles.
Two years later, Kearse reportedly took out a $5.25 million mortgage on the home which he defaulted on. In 2010, a tax lien was filed against him for $432,015 by the IRS.
However, property records show that Kearse still owns the fabulous home, so the retired NFL Bowler has saved the mansion from foreclosure.
According to Realtor, the three-storey, six-bedroom home of Kearse includes a gilded theater room, a four-car garage, a Renaissance-style painted ceiling in the great room, five and a half luxurious bathrooms, and 100 feet of water frontage off the Hillsboro Inlet.
Kearse's last NFL season was in 2009, the time when a rash of injuries slowed down his career.
Biz Journals said that three years after the former NFL All-Pro defensive end hung up his shoulder pads for good, his Pompano Beach home faced foreclosure. Jevon Kearse purchased the 6,064-square-foot property along the ocean at 2301 Bay Drive in Pompano Beach, FL for $6.05 million in 2004. Two years later, he mortgaged it for $5.25 million. That loan defaulted and was subjected for foreclosure after the Duetsche Bank filed a lawsuit. But property records show that the retired NFL Bowler still owns the mansion and that the mansion was saved from foreclosure.
Kearse started his career with the Tennessee Titans in 1999. In 2004, the year he bought the mansion, he signed a deal with the Philadelphia Eagles for $65 million that included a signing bonus of $16 million.
