Game director for the recently released Halo 5: Guardians, Frank O'Connor, explains whether or not Master Chief's AI companion Cortana is actually naked. This is a question that's raged throughout the series: is Cortana, the artificial intelligence companion seen in the Halo games, naked? Well, according to director Frank O'Connor, the answer is no.

Cortana is an important part of the recently released Halo 5: Guardians. Symbolized as a blue hologram of a woman, she does appear to be "nude" and the director has explained why that's not exactly the case. "She's not actually nude because she has neither clothes nor private parts. She's effectively just wearing kind of a holographic body stocking; that's the concept," said O'Connor.

Game Rant reported that Halo 5 has a T for Teen rating, unlike the M rating that was attached to previous games. Nudity is a way for a game to receive an M rating in most cases, as the Halo 5 received a T rating, Cortana's nudity or lack thereof, hasn't really been an issue for the series.

Regardless of her appearance, Cortana has proven to be one of the most popular characters to come out of the Halo universe, or second only to Master Chief. Cortana's popularity has even been recognized by Microsoft, as the Siri-like Cortana that has been created to work with Windows 10. And it's sure that she'll continue to leave a lasting impact on Microsoft and the Xbox brand moving forward, nude or not.

The latest game of the Halo 5: Guardians franchise is now available exclusively for the Xbox One.

The story of the game series takes place on two fronts: one follows legend Master Chief, while the other follows series newcomer Spartan Locke. Halo 5 isn't focused entirely around one character hunting another, as reported by Tech Times.

Fans of Halo 5 will likely be split on what happens during the events of the series, and they would be hard-pressed to find someone who didn't have fun playing through it.
