The real story behind Sheldon's (Jim Parsons) ring that was shown in "The Big Bang Theory" Season 8 finale will be explored in episode 7 of the show.

According to International Business Times, Sheldon decided to propose to his longtime girlfriend Amy (Mayim Bialik). However, when Sheldon went to Amy's apartment to see if he still has a chance with her, he finds Amy kissing someone else goodnight.

Aside from that, Ecumenical News reported that episode 7 of "The Big Bang Theory" Season 9 will also pay tribute to the late Leonard Nimoy. It was already earlier revealed that the guys are big fans of the movie franchise and have made numerous references of it over the last seasons.

In the new episode, Sheldon will be asked to participate in a documentary that will be made by Nimoy's son, Adam Nimoy. According to the report, Sheldon will be participating in the documentary titled "For the Love of Spock."

While being interviewed for the project, Sheldon will talk about a napkin that contains Leonard Nimoy's DNA. Considered one of his prized possessions, Sheldon will put it in a safe box and Penny (Kaley Cuoco) and Leonard (Johnny Galecki) will discover the engagement ring he was supposed to give to Amy. That is when Sheldon will reveal that he was supposed to propose to her.

Meanwhile, fans will also see Howard (Simon Helberg) and Bernadette (Melissa Rauch) talk about having kids. According to the official synopsis, the couple is already in the process of renovating their home and Bernadette asks the help of her dad. It was revealed that Bernadette's dad and Howard will have a serious conversation about his and Bernadette's plans of having kids in the future.

"The Big Bang Theory" Season 9 will be coming back to their regular timeslot, and the new episode will air on Thursday this week.
