"Game of Thrones" fans would be excited to know that Bran Stark is officially back in the series next season.
Isaac Hempstead Wright's Bran has once again joined the filming of season 6 of HBO's award winning series rumored to be released May 2016. The actor himself, in an interview with Irish Examiner, confirmed the news by saying, "I can't say a lot but I am back this season, and it's going to get particularly interesting with Bran. He has some interesting visions."
In related news reported by Huffington Post, speculations are running in the rumor mill that "Game of Thrones" Season 6 may be delayed and start airing May 2016 instead of April of the same year. It is not good news for the anticipating fans who want to know the fate of their favorite characters, especially that of Jon Snow's. Although a lot of rumors have already circulated the Internet about his fate, it will only be revealed once the series commences again. It can be recalled that Jon Snow's death in Season 5 finale shocked the series' fandom.
The reason for the delay, the same news portal added, is the entry of new HBO series, "Vinyl." The time slot usually occupied by "Game of Thrones," which is Sunday, 9 p.m. will be taken by "Vinyl" slated to premiere on Feb. 14, next year. Unless HBO changes the schedule, which it has never done before, considering "Game of Thrones" is its biggest hit, the show may return on April 24, otherwise, fans may not see the series on their TV screen until May 8 or perhaps even later.
In the same report, Huffington Post added another speculation that the delay may be due to the release of "The Winds of Winter" the next book in the series of "A Song of Ice and Fire," by author George R. R. Martin, where "Game of Thrones" series is based. It is said that Martin is rushing to finish the book before season 6 releases. If the book is delayed, materials not covered in the published books may be shown in the show and it could potentially spoil the book.
And so the plot thickens. For now, fans would just have to wait for official announcements as to the airing of "Game of Thrones Season 6 and the release of "The Winds of Winter."
