Some details from Cartermatt reveals that the test for these two "Castle" lovers' relationship may be heading on a positive light anyways.

In the back episodes, Beckett asked Castle for a "space" and a time alone to think things through while she discovered something in her past regarding her mother's death. And although Castle gave Beckett her freedom to heal. It was revealed on the synopsis that Castle will try to win back her ladylove and will do something special for her on their anniversary.
"Castle" season 8 spoilers also revealed that "Castle plans to surprise Beckett on their one-year wedding anniversary," based from Cartermatt synopsis for Nov. 16 episode titled "Cool Boys." Apart from this, the episode also mentions that the two will work on with another case that involves a "brutal murderer."
"In order to hunt down the brutal murderer of a grifting seducer, Castle & Beckett must investigate New York's elite," in addition to the synopsis.
Will Castle's plan turn out great for their relationship and will Beckett see things through again and get back with her husband?
It was reported by TVLine that the Beckett and Castle's "split" will be a two-week episode, this will take off the series from pitching the drama feel and more of what the series is known for when it started. But the best part in this move of storytelling is that it did not only made the story more interesting. It also gave the viewers another thing to figure out not just the cases the two are solving but what will happen on their relationship.
