Fallout 4's new gun combat has been inspired by Destiny, as revealed by Bethesda. As seen in E3, Fallout 4 brings improved combat to the franchise by offering tighter gunplay and revamping the VATS system. Fans are impressed by the snippets of Fallout 4's combat, but some of the fans may be amazed by which title actually inspired the shooting mechanics in the game.

A major factor behind the modeling of Fallout 4's shooting mechanics by Bethesda after Destiny is that both Destiny and Fallout 4 are locked at 30fps, making Destiny an ideal reference point for the Fallout 4 designers with regards to the game's combat system.

According to Game Rant, Todd Howard of Bethesda has released statements about the design philosophy behind Fallout 4's shooting mechanics, such as the difference in the way the game is developed is that Bethesda will develop it with as many knobs as possible. They are always thinking of scale and not a team that is just going to make eight guns and spend forever on one gun. They knew they were going to have thousands, so they needed to develop a gun system that had all of the dials.

Josh Hamrick, a developer who has worked previously on Destiny, moved to Bethesda earlier this year. He now works to fine tune Fallout 4's firearms.

Those that don't like Destiny shouldn't worry about having a negative impact on the quality of Fallout 4. Even if Bethesda admitted to the influence of Destiny, the game still has its own identity.

Game Spot said that when the developers at Bethesda Game Studios designed Fallout 4's new shooting mechanics, they used Bungie's shooter Destiny which is considered to have some of the best gunplay in games, according to Game Informer's story on the game.

The developers at Bethesda saw Destiny as a touchstone for Fallout 4's shooter mechanics as Bungie's game runs at 30fps, just like Fallout 4.

Fallout 4 will be available for PC, PS4, and Xbox One on Nov.10th.
