"Fifty Shades Darker" star Dakota Johnson is up and running for recognition at this year's People's Choice Awards. However, fans couldn't help but notice how her onscreen partner Jamie Dornan was snubbed by the award-giving body.
According to The Stir, Johnson received the recognition that she so deserves for making "Fifty Shades of Grey" a huge success. However, fans also believe that the film wouldn't have succeeded without Dornan's portrayal of Christian Grey.
Johnson is up for Favorite Dramatic Movie Actress, and she will be competing against Jennifer Lopez, Blake Lively, Kate Winslet and Rachel McAdams.
Unfortunately, this year's Favorite Dramatic Movie Actor list doesn't include Dornan. The nominees are Channing Tatum, George Clooney, Will Smith, Johnny Depp and Matt Damon, according to Yareah.
If fans would look at the other actors who are nominated for the category, it will reportedly be easy to conclude that Dornan may not really be up to par with them. Unlike this year's Favorite Dramatic Movie Actor List, the actresses who are competing against Johnson are somewhat on the same level with her.
Meanwhile, "Fifty Shades of Grey" is also nominated in the Favorite Dramatic Movie category. Other films include "The Age of Adaline" which stars Lively, "The Longest Ride" which star McAdams, "The Martian" and "Straight Outta Compton."
In other news, fans of "Fifty Shades of Grey" will be excited to know that the official release date for "Fifty Shades Darker" hasn't been moved yet. The film will still be released on its scheduled Feb. 10, 2017 date. One of the reasons why the film wouldn't be delayed is the fact that a year later, the franchise will release "Fifty Shades Freed."
"Fifty Shades Darker" will also reportedly feature more intimate scenes between Johnson's Anastasia Steele and Dorna's Christian Grey.
