French tennis great Yannick Noah has recently sold his New York condo, according to Curbed.com. It didn't take long for Noah to find a willing buyer, who shelled $9.2 million for his 230 Centra South Park home, which initially carried a price tag of $9.5 million.
Noah is best known for his 1983 French Open victory and as the current and former team captain of France's highly successful tennis contingents for the Davis Cup and Fed Cup, respectively.
The condo, located at the 14th floor of the Southmoor House, features three bedrooms and three and a half bathrooms. The home offers residents a "loft-like space" as well as natural lighting and a great view of the New York skyline through its "voluminous windows". The master suite comes with a a sauna and a whirlpool bath.
Noah bought the house back in 1995 with this then wife, Heather Stewart-Whyte, and purchased an adjacent studio for $500,000. The said studio was converted into a third bedroom.
Noah tapped Halstead Property broker Madlena Krucher to sell the house, which was placed on the market earlier this year, according to The Observer. The new owners identified themselves as 230CPS14, LLC.
There is no clear explanation why Noah opted to sell his New York condo, although speculations about his responsibilities taking him outside New York for most of the time persist. Aside from being a tennis team captain for France, Noah is also a restaurateur and an international pop star with eight albums to his name. He owns Do Brazil, a high-end St. Barths restaurant.
For basketball fans, Noah is known as the father of Chicago Bulls center, Joakim Noah.
Noah entered the professional tennis circuit in 1977 and won his first singles the next year in Manila, Philippines. In total, Noah has captured 23 career singles titles, including his famous 1983 French Open win. He also played in the doubles category, earning 16 career titles before retiring in 1996.
According to Celebrity Net Worth, Noah's earnings amount to $10 million.
