Ellen DeGeneres is back in real estate action. The famous talk show host has reportedly dropped a huge $39.8 million on an equally humongous mansion in Holmby Hills, Los Angeles, according to several news sources.
The residence in question here is the famous Brody House, the epitome of architectural goodness. It was commissioned by famous philanthropists Sydney and Francis Lasker Brody in 1947. The home is a result of expertise and hard work put in by startchitect A. Quincy Jones, landscape architect Garett Eckbo and interior designer Billy Haines, reports Curbed.
According to TMZ, the 13, 511 square feet main residence sits on a large 2.3 acre lot. The home comprises of six bedrooms, nine full and one half bathroom.
Interiors of the multi-winged home feature large floor-to-ceiling glass windows, mixed flooring and open floor plan. The design of the home offers easy indoor-outdoor flow access.
Other exclusive features of the home include a spa, a gym, a swimming pool accompanied by a pool house. A large tennis court and rolling greens complete the exteriors of the home.

Plus, the Brody House is right next to Hugh Hefner's Playboy Mansion, which technically does not belong to him! Apparently, he rents the mansion room-by-room from Playboy Enterprises. Annual rents range from $70,000 to $1.4 million.

DeGeneres probably gathered all that moolah unloading some of her other estates around the country. They sold their Thousand Oaks ranch for $10.8 million and also unloaded a Beverly Hills penthouse for $843,900 in 2013. She also sold a home in Los Angeles for $21 million, reports Daily Mail. Although DeGeneres can afford to pay for the home just running a talk show and hosting awards and stuff (her net worth is $200 million and she makes about $65 million a year approximately), looks like she made some clear property moves here.
She just won the People's Choice Award for 'Favorite Daytime TV Host' and has been roped in to host the year's Oscars!
