Angelina Jolie, who has six children with a decade long partner Brad Pitt, revealed that it has hard to shoot a movie about a couple that has fallen out of love. She was referring to a new movie, "By the Sea," which they are starring together, directed by Jolie herself.
Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt seem to have one of the strongest relationships in Hollywood but it did not mean she did not worry because filming the movie tested their relationship.
Speaking to The Telegraph, she shared that they went to Malta to shoot the movie directly and thought it perhaps wasn't the best idea to spend their honeymoon. It is the first collaboration since Mr. & Mrs. Smith, which they made in 2005. The actress added that there were times, during the shoot, that they both thought it was really hard. According to her, "If we had married and were just starting a relationship it would have been a disaster, but because we have been together so long we wanted to see how far we could push our relationship and our love and see if we can work together under very intense circumstances and with very complex issues and see if it would make us better."
In another interview with New York Times, Jolie said that working together with her husband, who never had to work with a female director before, was not a good idea. She admitted, after a few days of filming, that it was such a bad idea and she did not know what she was thinking. She was also worried that shooting the film will destroy them but they found a way to work it out. She said, "Yeah, it gets really bad, but you work it out."
When the couple showed up for the world premiere of their movie, everything seemed perfect and there was no trace of anything but love for each other.
