Microsoft is very aggressive with its efforts to convince PC users to upgrade to Windows 10. However, tech support from its partners are telling people to refrain from downloading and installing Microsoft's new operating system, LaptopMag.com reports.

The tech website recently went undercover to test and analyze how tech support of various vendors respond to customer issues and concerns. The results revealed that customer agents are actively discouraging users to upgrade to the new Windows 10. A number of them also fail to grasp the core features of the operating system.

Tech support representatives of HP and Dell are among those who dissuade consumers from using Windows 10. A support agent from Dell told testers from Laptop Mag parading as customers with notebook issues to downgrade to Windows 8.1, citing that many callers experiencing issues with Windows 10 are flooding their tech service.

"There are a lot of glitches in Windows 10," Dell support rep Jalvin told the Laptop Mag staff. However, the issue reported by the Laptop Mag staff required a simple solution and didn't need downgrading to an old version of Windows.

In a statement by Dell, the computer company explained that tech supports often recommend users to roll back to an older version of the operating system if this is perceived to be helpful in the troubleshooting process. Still, Dell reiterates its commitment to Windows 10 and said that it will help their users with their transition to the new operating system.

Asked for his take on the subject, Mike Nash, HP's vice president of customer experience, said that support agents are tasked to ensure that clients are satisfied with their products. Downgrading is often suggested if the newest version of an operating system is having technical issues.

"At the end of the day, the person's job is to get the PC running," Nash said.

While Laptop Mag ran scripted scenarios, other users are actually experiencing real problems with Windows 10. WinBeta.com reports that gamers playing with the Windows 10 version of "Call of Duty Black Ops 3" are experiencing technical concerns with their product. Others said that the game won't load while other cited the game's ridiculously low frame rates.
