In the Season 1 finale of "Fear The Walking Dead," Strand (Colman Domingo) mentioned that they will be safer at sea than in the city, and now the whole family will be experiencing more drama when the show returns for Season 2.

After the Season 1 finale, it was reported that fans are intrigued as to whether the family can survive being at sea and whether Travis (Cliff Curtis) can keep his unconventional family together and safe. Christian Post reports that after Travis shot his ex-wife Liza (Elizabeth Rodriguez), his relationship with his son Chris (Lorenzo James Henrie) will undergo a dynamic change.

In an interview with the Hollywood Reporter, showrunner Dave Erikson revealed that there will be more family drama when "Fear the Walking Dead" returns for Season 2. He said that Travis does not have the best relationship with his son from the very beginning, and now after all that has happened along with the death of his mother, the baggage will affect Chris more than anyone else.

Travis was depicted as the "nice guy" in the beginning of the show; however, because of the various events that took place, it seems like he is beginning to turn into another person, and shooting his ex-wife may be the beginning of his transition. Melty reports that many fans see Travis as the show's version of Rick from "The Walking Dead."

Producer Gale Anne Hurd also revealed in an interview that Travis is still very different from Rick. She explained that Travis is a good guy and he does not want to embrace anything with violence and fear. She added that he is also a guy that believes in reason, which may be why he chose to kill his wife after realizing that she will be a zombie.

As of writing, there is still no official release date for Season 2 of "Fear the Walking Dead," but it is expected to come back sometime next year.
