Dewey Finn is back as the 'School of Rock - The Musical' hit the Broadway theaters at the Winter Garden Theatre last night, Nov. 9, while its opening is set on Sunday, Dec. 6, as announced by the Broadway World.  This musical production was based on the 2003 hit family and music oriented film from Paramount Pictures which was originally starred by Jack Black.

The movie focuses on the life of a rock guitarist, Dewey Finn who was fired from his band and impersonated his friend to work as a substitute teacher. Without any experience in teaching but have a great love for music, he then turned his class into a rock band and signed them up to a Battle of the Band without their parent's and school's consent.

The musical was choreographed by JoAnn M. Hunter while the set and costume was designed by Anna Louizos. According to Play Bill, the original crew behind the 2003 movie remained to be in this stage production as Lloyd Webber worked on its score and Glenn Slater on its lyrics. The School of Rock movie also has a book written by Julian Fellowes and was directed by Laurence Connor.

As added by sources, Alex Brightman leads the casts as Dewey Finn and Sierra Boggess as school principal Rosalie Mullins. Spencer Moses also joins the casts as Ned, Mamie Parris as Patty, Evie Dolan as Katie, Carly Gendell as Marcy, Ethan Khusidman as Mason, Bobbi MacKenzie as Tomika, Dante Melucci as Freddy, Brandon Niederauer as Zack, Luca Padovan as Billy, Jared Parker as Lawrence and Isabella Russo as Summer. The adult group is composed by Natalie Charle Ellis, Emily Cramer, Alan H. Green, Michael Hartney, John Hemphill, Merritt David Janes, Lulu Lloyd, Jaygee Macapugay, Cassie Okenka, Patrick O'Neill, Tally Sessions, Jesse Swimm, Jonathan Wagner and Jeremy Woodard. On the other hand, the children's group includes Taylor Caldwell, Ava Della Pietra, Jeffrey Samuel Kishinevskiy, Sofia Roma Rubino, Jersey Sullivan, Hayden Wall, Corinne Wilson and Shahadi Wright-Joseph.
