Rapper Jay Z's songs are nowhere near the genre of trance, but how would you like to own his 'stash pot'?

The former home of the R&B genius at 560 State Street, Brooklyn, where he apparently stored all the drugs when he was a dealer, is up for sale with a price tag of $870,000, several sources report.

Rapper Jay Z's song 'Empire State of Mind' was an ode to New York City. In the song, he raps about his former 'drug storage', referring to it as his stash pot. The verses of the song went:

I used to cop in Harlem, all of my Dominicanos

Right there up on Broadway, pull me back to that McDonald's

Took it to my stash spot, 560 State Street

Catch me in the kitchen like a Simmons with them pastries.

When the song released, Jay Z's lyrics caused a little shuffle in tinseltown. Vulture magazine headed over to 560 State to investigate the importance of the address and interviewed residents to validate its authenticity. The residents said Jay Z moved into apartment 10 B sometime in late 1996 or early 1997.

When urged if there was any 'Reasonable Doubt' about Jay Z dealing drugs, residents said he was a complete gentleman and never found anything suspicious.

"He would nod his head to you in the hallway. He'd open the door for you," Nathan Dudley, a resident said. "He always had a group of people with him, but not many going in and out," he added.

Jay moved out of the neighborhood after his debut album, Reasonable Doubt released. With his commercial success, he abandoned his dealer-duties.

The residence at 560 State Street looks nothing like a dealer's pad (but what does a dealer's pad look like gain?). It is a 1045 square feet condo, comprising of two bedrooms, one full and one half bathroom. It last sold Sep 2005 for $598,019.

Interiors feature light hardwood floors and large glass windows that offered views of the neighborhood below. The kitchen has a small mid-rise island. The home is perfect for a single person or a working couple.

Empire State Mind won the Grammy in 2009 for 'Best Rap Song'. The song features Alicia Keys on the chorus and some vocals. Later, Keys released her own version of the song "Empire State of Mind Broken Down". However, it didn't do as well.
