Mariah Carey hasn't been seen for the past few years now but she will finally come back to the big screen with her voice.
According to hollywoodreporter.com, Mariah Carey will voice the Gotham City's mayor in "The Lego Movie's spin- off film, "The Lego Batman."
The movie has released the list of its cast that will join them in the movie which includes Will Arnett as Batman, Rosario Dawson as Batgirl, Michael Cera as Robin, Ralph Fiennes as Alfred and Zach Galifianakis as Joker. Chris McKay, who is the animation supervisor of The Lego Movie, will direct the film while Seth Grahame- Smith will write the script for the animation spin- off. The movie producers will be Phil Lord, Christopher Miller, Roy Lee, and Dan Lin.
According to digitaltrends.com, it was first reported that Mariah will play the character of Commissioner Gordon but changes in the film casting has put her to be city's mayor. The movie's fans thought that it would be an exciting idea to have Commissioner Gordon be played in woman's perspective or that Gordon might sing spontaneously throughout the film given the fact that Mariah is a top- notch singer. Though some of the movie enthusiasts think that having Mariah play a character within inner circle of Batman, playing the role of the mayor will be easier for the filmmaker itself as they will be able to shape the mayor's character depending on the needs of the film.
The first The Lego Movie was a huge success and Batman's character was introduced as a brooding superhero who think that he has all the fighting skills that he need. The spin- off movie will try to develop a whole new story from established Batman personality who once became Lucy's [Elizabeth Banks] ex- partner and now being wooed by Emmett [Chris Pratt].
Mariah Carey has long been known for her singing prowess, whistle voice and 5 octave vocal range before her light shines through her acting. Though she won't be seen on this upcoming movie, Mariah will be part of its universe.
