"American Horror Story" fans rejoice, the hit television series' season 6 has been officially renewed!
Barely halfway through it's current season, "American Horror Story: Hotel," followers of FX's highest rated series already have something to look forward to come 2016. The renewal was expected considering the success the show has had in the past seasons, including 71 Emmy Award nominations and 13 wins, including five for fourth installment Freak Show.
When the announcement was made, The Hollywood Reporter quoted FX Network's CEO John Landgraf saying, "With the sixth installment coming next year, American Horror Story has unquestionably joined the ranks of television's landmark series. From Murder House to Hotel, AHS has pioneered a new television form, as well as becoming FX's highest-rated show, while also pushing every conceivable boundary of creative excellence and audacity." He added, "This is even more remarkable because Ryan and co-creator Brad Falchuk tear up the playbook every year, challenging the entire creative team to come up with something even more spectacular, frightful and entertaining. You could not ask more of an artist, their team or a series and with every new installment they deliver."
Ryan Murphy, one of the creators of the show, already invited Lady Gaga to return next season and despite not having any official cast announcement as yet, the hinted that Jessica Lange may return although possibly not as a leading lady, reports Slash Film. Should Lady Gaga returns, they would have to work around the singer turned actress' tour schedule. Lange left when "American Horror Story: Freak Show" concluded. There are no details available on the story lines yet since each season is considered a reboot.
Fans would be excited to hear more about the development of the 6th installment and the genuises behind the show will surely surprise the followers with another impressive setting. In the meantime, there are eight more episodes to enjoy in American Horror Story: Hotel."
