Tech giant Apple has announced that the company's newest accessory, the Apple Pencil, will be officially launched today. It was said that the company will sell the innovative digital stylus pen for $99. The pen is expected to be available in various Apple stores and it can be purchased online or at select retail stores, a report from iDigital Times said on Wednesday.

Just like any other stylus pen in the market, Apple Pencil features both pressure sensitivity and angle detection. These features allow users to be more creative in using the innovative pen for writing and coloring, just like an ordinary pen. The pen is equipped with sensitivity sensors which, Apple claims, can detect light and thin or hard surfaces, wide and narrow strokes.

"The Pencil is almost entirely white, with just a metallic band at the non-writing end by the charging cap. It has a glossy, hard ceramic feel (pleasingly, the white material looks and feels a lot like an actual pencil) with the exception of the tip, which is matt, softer and slightly off-white. You get a spare tip in the box, but unlike Microsoft's new Surface Pro stylus, with its variety of tip sizes, this is a straight replacement for the starting tip," Macworld UK reports, describing the Apple Pencil.

Meanwhile, Macworld says that Apple's iPad Pro will be exclusively sold online starting Nov. 11. Apple's new tablet is expected to arrive in the retail stores next week. Other Apple accessories expected to go on sale today are "$169 Smart Keyboard, $79 silicone cases, and $59 Smart Covers."

"The Pro starts at $799 for a 32GB Wi-Fi model and goes all the way up to $1079 for a 128GB version with Wi-Fi and cellular connectivity. The tablet comes in silver, gold, and space gray. The tablet will be available in 40 countries at launch, including the U.S., U.K., Canada, China, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Mexico, and Russia," the report said.
