Photo leaks of the 2016 editions of the "Samsung Galaxy A3" and "Samsung Galaxy A5" recently surfaced, and the images showed that these two smartphones have been physically inspired by the more premium Samsung phones, the "Samsung Galaxy Note 5" and the "Samsung Galaxy S6". Aside from the obvious "Note 5" and "S6" inspiration, it can also be seen that the new phones have metal frames and glass backs, which are probably made of Gorilla Glass.

With only the leaked photos as the basis, the only phone specification detail that can be confirmed is the screen size, which is probably 4.5 inches for the "Samsung Galaxy A3" and 5 inches for the "Samsung Galaxy A5". As for the release date, GSMarena assumes that both the "Samsung Galaxy A3 2016" and "Samsung Galaxy A5 2016" should be launched before the year ends, because this was the strategy applied by Samsung for the "Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1".

The previous A3 and A5 were midrange smartphones with the A3 being the lower model. It had 1.5 GB RAM, 8MP and 5 MP cameras, 1900 mAh battery, and Snapdragon 410 chip. The A5 on the other hand, had 2 GB RAM, 13 MP and 5 MP cameras, 2300 mAh battery, and a Snapdragon 410 chipset.

What we are looking for in the 2016 "Samsung Galaxy A3" should be a bigger RAM, better battery, and a more powerful chipset. For the "Samsung Galaxy A5" on the other hand, a 3 GB RAM, and at least 3000 mAh battery would be good news. It can also improve on the chipset department. If both the "Samsung Galaxy A3" and "Samsung Galaxy A5" can get the latest Android OS of 6.0 Lollipop, then that would be even more great news. But since the phones may still belong in the midrange category, just an improvement on the chipset and battery may just be enough.
