"Gravity Falls" Season 2 Episode 18 titled "Weirdmageddon" is "one giant, epic, multi-part story," series creator Alex Hirsch revealed in an earlier interview, according to Movie Pilot. The Disney XD animation recently aired the first of this multi-episode story arc, which ultimately showed Mabel trapped in a prison bubble.

While it is believed that Bill Cipher is responsible for putting Mabel inside the prison bubble, the outlet cited that several fans came up with one interesting theory surrounding Mabel's involvement in Weirdmageddon. According to the publication, Mabel may be powering Weirdmageddon using her imagination.

The outlet went on and cited several clues from the episode, which might help prove the said theory. One of these clues is the fact that Bill has placed chains around the prison bubble in order to keep her inside. Another clue is the pink glow, which seems to come from her, and not from the bubble itself. The outlet also made mention of the fact that Bill has started to call her by her name instead of referring to her as Shooting Star.

While it might be interesting to see if this theory was real, the outlet further noted that there could be dire consequences if Mabel manages to escape from the prison bubble - Bill may lose his power or everything else collapses including the entire universe.

This coincides with a report from Movie News Guide, which stated that a major character from "Gravity Falls" is bound to leave the show for good this season. The outlet, however, speculated that Grunkle Stan may be the character departing the series, but there are several theories claiming that Mabel or Dipper may be gone for good.
