'Narcos,' aired by streaming giant Netflix, has exceeded expectations in terms of reception, and viewers cannot wait for Season 2. Now that the huge fanbase is waiting for how Netflix will continue to tell the life of the infamous Columbian drug lord Pablo Escobar, there have been a number of rumors and updates surfacing about the next season.

According to VCPost, there are speculations that the well-received show would soon come to an end. The reason for this is that, the show's rapid pace in Season 1 narrated almost two decades of the drug lord's reign, leaving nothing to Season 2 but his escape, and eventually his death. It will be difficult to come up with another storyline after which, and people are guessing that Netflix would probably look into the lives of other cartels that gained power after Escobar's death.

While hundreds are waiting whether or not the show will continue, someone very close to the drug lord is not happy with the series. Escobar's son, Juan Pablo Escobar, complained on how the show is not faithful to the real events that had happened in his father's life. "First, they should include chapters showing how the [U.S.] Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) charged my dad 'taxes' so he could send cocaine to the U.S. territory via Miami International Airport," insisted Juan Pablo in an interview with Brazilian daily 'O Estado de Sao Paolo.' According to reports, he offered his consultancy services to the show but Narcos' director Jose Padilha refused to hire him. He also added that the series is an insult to Columbian history as well as the people who were victims of drug trafficking.

Fans have yet to wait for an official announcement from Netflix, but iDigitalTimes speculates that Season 2 will be aired late summer or fall of 2016, roughly a year after the first season was released, since this coincides the internet streaming media's usual release schedule for its original shows.
