Season 5 of "Person of Interest" is set to come out this winter on CBS, and various spoilers and speculations on storylines have already come up.

TV Line has previously reported that "Fargo" actor Josh Close will have a recurring role in "Person of Interest" Season 5. Co-showrunner Greg Plageman told the publication that Close's character will be a "very interesting" one, though he did not reveal specific details. Now, according to MStarz, John Reese (Jim Caviezel) and Harold Finch (Michael Emerson) will have to figure out if Close's character is actually a friend or enemy. The report speculates the actor to play a Samaritan agent and become a "a number in danger" that The Machine comes up with.

Meanwhile, it was also previously reported that Shaw, played by Sarah Shahi, will finally return in Season 5, after being presumed dead. Cartermatt reports that the actress is excited to reprise her role, and she stated that viewers will finally learn what happened to her after her disappearance from the show. It was previously reported that Reese will wonder where her loyalty lies after the events in the Season 4 finale and after Shaw's been gone for so long.

"We will learn what happened to Shaw over the last nine, 10 months, however long it is she's been missing ... Everything that's going on in that episode [featuring her return], are the reasons why I said yes to this show. It's everything that I wanted to play in this character, all the places I wanted to go to as an actress but never had the opportunity, and they wrote it for me," Shahi said, as quoted in a separate TV Line report.

Plageman also revealed that the show will feature more milestones in Season 5. Kevin Chapman, who plays Fiasco, seemed to have agreed with the statement as he said that "Season 5 is the best season we've ever had." "The action, the performances, the subject matter.... Everything. They've really gone above and beyond," he added.

"Person of Interest" Season 5 will premiere in the winter on CBS. It has yet to be confirmed if it will be the show's last season.
