The specific premiere date of "Secrets and Lies Season 2" has yet to be announced, though it was previously reported that the show will return during the mid-season break of "Nashville." However, the latest news claims that the TV series has been further delayed, as another show will now take over "Nashville's" timeslot, which was originally intended for "Secrets and Lies" Season 2.
According to The Wrap, the Season 2 of "Secrets and Lies" was originally intended to air once "Nashville" takes a mid-season hiatus. However, ABC recently announced that another show, "American Crime Drama," will take "Nashville's" 10 p.m. Wednesday timeslot starting on January 6, which poses questions on the actual premiere date of "Secrets and Lies."
Enstarz reports that "American Crime Drama" is expected to last until March only, during which "Nashville" will return to occupy its timeslot. It is still unknown, therefore, when "Secrets and Lies" will actually return and whether or not it will have a new schedule once its Season 2 premieres. The site speculates that the show may be further delayed to spring next year or until summer.
Meanwhile, a new cast member of the show has been recently revealed. According to Crossmap, McNally Sagal will be joining the show as John Warner's executive assistant named May. It is said that her character will be considered as family since she's been employed by the Warners for so long. Sagal is best known for her previous role as Margaret Murphy in "Sons of Anarchy."
Other cast members of the show's new season include Neal Oliver and Kenny Johnson.
"Secrets and Lies" Season 2 is set to premiere in 2016, but the exact release date has yet to be announced.
