Oscar nominee Kate Hudson said that what she's looking for in a potential boyfriend is the "connection".

"It starts with a connection, doesn't it?", Hudson said on ETOnline. "You just never quite know, and when you connect, you connect."

Hudson, however, is not actively looking for a beau right now. She is single and loving it! "It's nice to get acquainted with myself alone," she said during an interview with Harper's Bazaar

"You know, the goal when you get into a relationship is not to be out of the relationship. It's to try to stay in the relationship. But if it doesn't work, you can't force those things," the 36-year-old actress added.

Kate Hudson announced her split from her fiancé, Matthew Bellamy, last December 2014. She has been enjoying her single life since.

Although being separated from her former partners Chris Robinson and Bellamy had been difficult, she said that she's very much comfortable with her non-traditional decisions when it comes to moving on and raising her two kids alone.

"I've chosen something in my life that I'm very comfortable with that goes against a lot of people's more traditional feelings. If something's not right, I don't believe in maintaining something for the sake of what's considered a traditional family, because I believe that there are different ways to raise children. It's far more effective to raise children in happy homes," Hudson shared.

The "Almost Famous" actress said she is very satisfied with how her life is going and that she feels very lucky to have her two adorable children Ryder (11) and Bingham (4) by her side.

Hudson recently flaunted her toned body for her new sports wear line with 'athleisure' clothing brand Fabletics! People Magazine has paparazzi photos of the said shoot.

Kate's newest line for Fabletics will showcase menswear and she shares that she has taken on a relaxed approach in creating the designs for FL2. She describes the addition of a men's line as a natural progression for the brand, and she has put her brother Oliver on board as the ambassador for FL2. Kate also shares that Oliver was actually the inspiration for the said line.

The full interview will be on the December/January issue of Harper's Bazaar.
