The latest rumor revealed that the "iPhone 6C" will be launched mid 2016. As excited as we can possibly be for the release of an affordable "iPhone 6" model, it's still important to take this rumor with a grain of salt.

When Apple held its annual event that was intended to launch the long rumored "iPhone 6S" and "6S Plus", it was quite disappointing that an "iPhone 6C" was not part of the launch. We have heard about this device being rumored together with the 6S and the 6S Plus, but during the 2015 event, only the higher models were revealed. However, the telltales about the "iPhone 5C" inspired phone do not stop from the phone's absence in the 2015 Apple event. In fact, more phone details even surface online.

TechRadar said that while the 5C was purely manufactured to be the more affordable variant in the "iPhone 5" line, the 6C will likely have something more to differentiate it from the 5C. It was said that the 6C will have a screen that is smaller than its "iPhone 6" siblings. However, it may still keep the plastic shell that the 5C has been known for. Apple may have even leaked the said phone themselves, and it showed an "iPhone 5C look"-a-like that has a TouchID. Even though the leaked image looked like the "iPhone 5C" at first glance, the said 6C has edges more similar to the "iPhone 6" models.

For the specs, the said "6C iPhone" is rumored to come with the A8 processor, NFC, and Apple Pay support.

So far, no confirmations or leaks come up about the next iPhone C model. Right now, the only way you can get a hold of an iPhone with a smaller screen is to get the old "iPhone 5S" or "iPhone 5C", but the latter has already been phased out. Let's just keep our fingers crossed that Apple won't deprive us of the chance to own a colorful and more affordable iPhone 6.
