Charlie Sheen made the headlines as news emerged that he is indeed infected with HIV. Though it started out as a rumor two years ago, it was finally confirmed by Sheen himself just this week during his interview with Matt Lauer on "Today" which airs on NBC.
As per New York Times, during his interview, Sheen openly admitted that he is 'if fact' HIV positive.
"I am, in fact, H.I.V.-positive"
He then added that he "dazedly chose (or hired) the companionship of unsavory and insipid types."
"Regardless of their saltless reputations, I always lead with condoms and honesty when it came to my condition," he said. "Sadly, my truth soon became their treason, as a deluge of blackmail and extortion took center stage in this circus of deceit."
Prior to Sheen's confession, it was reported that the actor spent almost $10 million to keep the HIV rumors hidden as he was not yet ready to expose it to the public. Radar Online then added that his cover up however could land in in jail if the victims he slept with would file charges against him.
Setting the HIV issue aside, Variety website then reported that Sheen is planning to put both of his Beverly Hills mansions up on the market.
As per the website, his 6,625 square foot, semi Spanish villa will be out on the market. He got it for $4.8 million on October 2012 from the billionaire investor Tom Gores. Aside from his Spanish villa, Sheen also plans to sell his 9,020-square-foot mock-Mediterranean. The mansion contains six bedrooms and nine bathrooms in which he bought last March 2011 for $6,999,999. He got the mansion from Hollywood mover and shaker, Mike Medavoy.The Mediterranean mansion was occupied by his ex-wife, Denise Richards earlier this year, while her own mansion in Hidden Hills is up on the market for $7.749 million; it is however under renovation.
