Elizabeth (Tea Leoni) is back settling national issues after setting a historical event with Cuba in the new episode of "Madam Secretary" Season 2.
In episode 8, Elizabeth will be working with White House Chief of Staff Russell Jackson (Željko Ivanek) and Mike B. (Kevin Rahm) to devise a plan to remove National Security Advisor Craig Sterling (Julian Acosta) from of his position. According to Christian Today, Craig and Elizabeth have opposing views when it comes to certain issues, like how President Conrad Dalton (Keith Carradine) dealt with the problems with the Russians and Cubans in the last episode.
In episode 7, Craig suggested to the President that the White House send a message to Russia to make it realize that the country should be feared. However, the President did not welcome the idea ad said that the problem should be dealt with in a civilized manner.
Craig also disagreed with Elizabeth's plan to reopen the trading relationship with the Cubans, and this led him to reopen a murder case against a woman who has escaped the country to hide in Cuba for the past 30 years. Craig planned to use this issue to prevent Elizabeth from getting all the votes she needs to act on her plans.
MNR Daily reports that because of the strained political relationship between United States and Russia, Elizabeth thinks that the National Security advisor is no longer capable of doing his job. With the advice that he gives to the President, Craig might compromise the efficiency of the President in handling the issues with Russia. Elizabeth will plan on getting Craig ousted even though she has managed to sort out the situation and destroy Craig's plans.
Will Elizabeth be successful in getting Craig out of the way? Viewers will find out as "Madam Secretary" Season 2 episode 8 airs on CBS this week.
