Amanda Bruce, a nurse who dated Charlie Sheen for eight months, revealed that she knew that the actor was HIV-positive but this did not stop her from engaging in unprotected sex with him almost every day.

According to an article on DailyMail.Co.UK, Bruce appeared on The Dr. Oz Show to recount her intimate moments with the 50-year-old actor. She said that she consulted doctors and she even took preventive medications to reduce her risk of getting the virus before they engaged in sex.

Sheen's physician, Dr. Robert Huizenga, was one of the doctors that Bruce consulted and he appeared with her on the show. He mentioned that he advised Bruce against engaging in unprotected sex with his patient.

Dr. Huizenga said, "I was the doctor for her boyfriend, we called in other doctors and they felt the risk of transmission if she took the prophylaxis and he had undetectable level was miniscule. We can't say it's zero."

The doctor said that Bruce decided to go forward with her decision even with the mentioned miniscule risk because she felt a close bond with the actor and she wanted to pursue a higher level of intimacy in their relationship as well.

Bruce mentioned that she and Sheen had known each other for months before they engaged in sex. They were basically a couple and she was smitten with him. She recalled that they had an exclusive relationship when they started having sex. She also mentioned that the actor was also very faithful in taking his HIV medications.

Bruce and Sheen have since split but the nurse said that they are still close friends. She claimed that she even urged the actor to reveal his condition since they started dating.

She announced that she is HIV-negative and that she wishes Sheen all the best of luck.
