Zayn Malik and Perrie Edwards' split became a huge topic in the entertainment/music industry this year. Fans were distraught about their called-off engagement while no one really knows what caused it. However, four months after, the former One Direction hunk has finally spoken about it and claimed that he loves the Little Mix singer and he always will.
After Malik and Edwards called off their engagement, several rumors and speculations were hurled at them. Left with no choice, both of them had to deal the pain and their breakup in public. In a heartbreaking interview with British tabloid, Fader, the 22-year-old singer came out to clear up the most controversial part of his life, his breakup with his fiancée. Malik denied the controversies that he dumped Perrie through a text message and said that he couldn't do that to her.
"If you could word it exactly this way, I'd be very appreciative," Malik claimed. "I have more respect for Perrie than to end anything over text message. I love her a lot, and I always will, and I would never end our relationship over four years like that. She knows that, I know that, and the public should know that as well. I don't want to explain why or what I did, I just want the public to know I didn't do that."
The interview is Malik's first ever since he and Edwards broke up in July. Malik and Edwards were about to move to a £3 million dream home just weeks before their breakup.
Despite Malik's rumored cheating and drug scandals, Edwards never abandoned him. This reportedly made it harder for her to face the public, but she was seen standing beside her bandmates, who supported her during the time.
Prior to split, Malik left his band One Direction.
