'5SOS' is not only famous for their appealing charisma to their fans but also in terms of their pop rock sound and knowledge in musicality. Shedding more light behind the music, the members Luke Hemmings and Calum Hood shared some of their early stories before they were a band and many more.
Luke Hemmings shared in his clip video how his interest in music really came on early in his life. The "5 Seconds of Summer" main vocalist shared that as a young child, he "always felt out of place" but learning to play the guitar instantly made him "fell in love" with it. Some of his bandmates like Calum Hood describes Hemmings as "ambitious" and wishes his bandmate "to keep going."
Calum Hood on the other hand is described as the "comic relief" of the "5SOS" group. Hood shared some introduction about himself in the clips. "I feel like in the band I'm the laid back kinda guy," Hood shared from Sugarscape. "Song writing for me is kind of an escape. I was a little shy kid when I was younger. I still am a bit now. I wanted to be several things. I went to Brazil for a month to train [to be a footballer] and I came back, and the second day back I decided I wanted to be in the band.​"
"5 Seconds of Summer" video "How Did we End up Here" is part of the band's documentary from their 2014 behind-the-scenes "Rock Out with Your Socks Out" concert. It details a three-hour footage of the members according to Music Times.
One of the first reveals that "5SOS" members claimed in the documentary is how normal and ordinary they were from the beginning, describing themselves as "four dudes who met at school." They also described the sour treatment they experienced on their way to exploring professionalism in their music.
"There was hardly anyone who would work with us because we were just the next boy band because you're four boys who sing," according to Music Times.
