Coldplay is in the works for their new album set to be released in December, and their list of collaborations continue to surprise people.
As reported by Billboard, Beyonce and Jay-Z's 3-year-old daughter, Blue Ivy Carter, will also be part of the album. Blue Ivy was part of a choir that was included in the recording of one of the songs in Coldplay's album.
Blue Ivy's mom, Beyonce, also recorded a song with the band entitled "Hymn on the Weekend," a track in the upcoming album. According to lead vocalist Chris Martin in his interview with The Wall Street Journal, “I thought I’d [wanted] to have a song called 'Drinks on Me' where you sit on the side of a club and buy everyone drinks because you’re so f---ing cool," he continued. "I was chuckling about that, when this melody came -- 'drinks on me, drinks on me' -- then the rest of the song came out. I presented it to the rest of the band and they said, 'We love this song, but there’s no way you can sing 'drinks on me.' So that changed into 'drinks from me' and the idea of having an angelic person in your life. Then that turned into asking Beyonce to sing on it.”
“Everyone who got asked to sing on our album has an important part in our lives. The 'choir' started with my two kids coming in after school and recording. We recorded Blue Ivy Carter in New York when her mom Beyonce was in the studio. It comes from learning about Greek tragedy, where the chorus chimes in at times. To me, when we use that sound, it’s to affirm what I’m saying. 'We agree with you, Chris. Keep singing,'” Martin added.
Aside from Beyonce and Blue Ivy, other collaborations include Tove Lo, Noel Gallagher, and Merry Clayton. Additional details about the album were also published in Billboard. This album, entitled "A Head Full of Dreams," is Coldplay's last album, as was announced back in December 2014. The band also promised their fans that they will be doing a stadium tour in 2016 to back up the album's release.
