Kelly Clarkson released a simple black-and-white music video of her new single "Piece by Piece" on Nov. 19, Thursday.

E News! stated that the first-ever "American Idol" winner got personal with "Piece by Piece." In an interview with Glamour in March, the singer shared how she came up with the song.

"I had [my daughter River Rose Blackstock], and even from holding her the first day, I was like, 'How could anyone walk away from that?' Then I started thinking that my husband [Brandon Blackstock], is such a great father. He's not an audience guy -- he is onstage doing the work with me. He changes diapers, he stays up, and if I've had a late night, he'll wake up with her in the morning, we're definitely partners, and I felt so lucky."

Clarkson's childhood was not that inviting. Her parents divorced when she was still five years old. She also admitted that she had trust issues with men until she met Blackstock, who Clarkson said is the complete opposite of her dad.

"I was talking to my sister on the phone about how sometimes girls with daddy issues don't find men like that! You find men who are all you knew, and I just feel so lucky. Maybe it's because I waited and worked through my 20's. It's a positive song, even though I know it sounds sad," Clarkson expressed.

"I don't know what my father went through as a child, and I don't know why he left and made the decisions he made, but everyone's human. I don't understand it for me, but I understand the depth of what that is --having a child -- now, and he's made me want to be that much more present in my family," the pop star added.

Clarkson, 33, and Blackstock, 38, have something special to look forward to -- the couple will be having their second child. Clarkson made the announcement during a concert in Los Angeles after singing "Piece by Piece."

River Rose, Clarkson's one-year-old daughter, can be seen in the newly released music video. The adorable baby girl gives her mom a sweet kiss at the end of the song. "Piece by Piece," according to Today, serves as a tribute to Clarkson's husband and River's dad.
