It looks like we are past the time when 'Pepsi' was simply a big soda brand. Right now, we are being introduced to a Pepsi branded Android phone.

It was just a couple of months ago when the odd rumor surfaced online, saying that the big soda company will venture into the tech industry. Now, all the rumors are confirmed and the "Pepsi Phone P1" has become official. It's quite amazing how the company was able to come up with a good mid ranger with great specs.

The phone is manufactured by the Shenzhen Scooby Communication Equipment, and the phone runs the dido OS which is also Android Lollipop based. It has an aluminum unibody construction with a 5.5 inches 1080p display covered by 2.5D glass. For the processor, the "Pepsi Phone P1" is powered by an octa core MT6592 chipset.

The phone sports a 13 MP rear camera (f/2.0, 1/3.06") and a 5 MP front shooter. The "Pepsi Phone P1" also carries a fingerprint reader that most premium phones possess. What's quite amazing about the "Pepsi Phone P1" is that it comes with a 3000 mAh battery, the battery life is not yet confirmed, but this battery size is certainly bigger than many phones within Pepsi Phone P1's range. Not only that, the "Pepsi Phone P1" is also LTE enabled, plus it comes with the dual sim feature.

Right now JD.com makes the phone available for around $110 (converted currency), although that is a promotional offer for 1000 users. There is also an even lower promo price but the stocks for that immediately ran out.

To give this phone an early verdict, it's safe to say that the "Pepsi Phone P1" deserves a shot. Not only does it come with good specs, it has a good price as well, which simply means that giving it a try out of curiosity and fad won't cost you a lot.

Furthermore, the "Pepsi Phone P1" will come with a cable, charger, and a protective case.
