Reid Ewing, who plays the ditzy Dylan on the hit show "Modern Family," recently disclosed to the public his sexual orientation. The 27-year-old actor penned a very honest confession on a blog, for the Huffington Post, and Us Magazine reported that Ewing casually let the cat out of the bag on Twitter!

Just a few days ago, Ewing made headlines for his struggle with his addiction with plastic surgery and body dysmorphia. The young star tweeted "saw Eugene Bata on @GMA in the Body Dysmorphia segment connected to my article and I just want to say he is hot af," which has led a fan to ask him about his sexual preference. The fan tweets if he just came out, but the actor gave an admirable answer -- "I was never in."

Ewing expressed his disappointment that people cared more about him being gay than about him coming clean about his body issues. He did so by tweeting a GIF featuring Bea Arthur giving a disapproving look.

In Ewing's entry entitled "I Underwent Cosmetic Surgery for My Body Dysmorphia... And I Wish I Hadn't" on Huffpost Healthy Living, the brave man shared his "obsession" with his looks and that he always thought that he was ugly. He also mentioned in the entry that his plastic surgery procedures ended up making him feel even worse about his looks. He confessed "I think people often choose cosmetic surgery in order to be accepted, but it usually leaves them feeling even more like an outsider. We don't hear enough stories about cosmetic surgery from this perspective." The actor is now on a mission to spread awareness on body dysmorphia, and to provide support to those who are suffering from it too.

"Modern Family" airs every Wednesday on ABC.
