Warner/DC unveils the official preview of another DC spin-off 'Legends of Tomorrow,' and the release date for the new superhero series has also been revealed.

According to Entertainment Weekly, 'Legends of Tomorrow' will debut on January next year.  An addition to CW's DC series that includes the shared television universe of The Flash and Arrow, as well as the new show with a female protagonist, 'Supergirl,'the latest trailer proves that the network commits to giving its viewers high-quality production. The 9 month in the making teaser boasts of believable effects, like in the previous CW superhero series.

Joining the huge cast is Arthur Darvill who plays the time-traveler Rip Hunter; Brandon Routh as The Atom, Caity Lotz as White Canary, 'Prison Break' alums Wentworth Miller and Dominic Purcell; Ciara Renée as Hawkgirl and Falk Hentschel as Hawkman. The 'legends' will battle the main villain, the immortal Vandal Savage played by Casper Crump.

The trailer is initially set in the dark and explosion-filled 2166, and the evil dictator Vandal Savage is the ruler of the world. So, Rip Hunter gathers a team of 'legends' to travel back in time to fight the villain and prevent him from gaining power and control. There's also a cameo appearance by 'Arrow' team members Stephen Amell and Katie Cassidy, showing that the show is really tied up with the other spinoffs. A possible lovers' quarrel also teases the fans of Hawkgirl and Hawkman. At one point, the team travels to the 1970s using the Waverider. While in the past, they will encounter more challenges, including facing the consequences of messing with the time line.  

Speculations say that the show will feature Batman and Superman as a clear reference to both DC characters was included in the preview: "I've seen Men of Steel die and Dark Knights fall. Your entire 21st century world will suffer."

'Legends of Tomorrow' will start air every Thursday starting January 21 on CW.
