The Philadelphia 76ers is not just having a slow start this season, they are also journeying towards having the worst campaign this season if the losing streak continues. In NBA history, the team was made famous by the likes of Chamberlain who had his infamous 100 point game while in the franchise, Julius Erving who led the Sixers in winning the 1983 NBA Title, and most recently Allen Iverson who played his heart out for the franchise, making him one the most exciting point-guards in NBA history. However, in the present day, the Sixers are still on the hunt for a player that could bring their banner towards another successful campaign.

With the current standing of the Sixers, 0 wins and 15 losses, the franchise is now being speculated by some insiders on making a trade deal that could possibly change the course of their campaign. Jahlil Okafor of the Sixers is now being mentioned in the rumor mill as a possible trade piece for the Laker's D'Angelo Russell. ESPN Insider, Chad Ford, via Yibada stated that:

"And there might be a team or two out there where Okafor fits better. I especially wonder about the Lakers. D'Angelo Russell has been a tough fit in L.A. The Lakers flipped from Okafor to Russell the night of the draft. Would the two teams consider swapping the two players? That would effectively be a draft-night trade, a few months later."

Now this rumor somehow sounds preposterous, especially that both teams are on the bottom list of their respective conference standing. However, with Russell having a difficult time with the Lakers and a possible more decrease of game time, a transfer to another team is somehow a coherent idea. And as SportsBlog cited Ford's talk, "it would be a win/win for both the 76ers and the Lakers to make a trade between Okafor and Russell."

However, the Lakers would not easily let go of their rookie especially since they are still on the rebuilding stage. It would still take some time for the Lakers' rookies to develop, and if there are no signs of improvement after some seasons for Russell, then it would be the right time to entertain an Okafor-Russell trade rumor.
