CW has granted additional episodes to Crazy Ex-Girlfriend and iZombie series according to Entertainment Weekly. The sophomore iZombie got an additional six episodes, while Freshman series and musical comedy Crazy Ex-Girlfriend will get five more.

The move to extend Crazy Ex-Girlfriend is an attempt of CW to give variation to their series genres given that most of their shows are either centered on comic books or vampire characters. Golden Globe Awardee 'Jane the Virgin' accompanies the said series on its Monday spot. The comedy show's ratings are not exceptional, averaging just a 0.4 rating among adults 18-49, and 1.04 million viewers, but it got favorable reviews. It is considered an ideal companion for 'Jane' because it gives its audience a kind of infectious energy especially with its elaborate production numbers. The story tells of a lawyer and her encounter with an ex-boyfriend, which eventually drives her to do things that are irrational like ridiculously stalking her ex on social media, or moving to a new city altogether.

Meanwhile, iZombie is said to have been performing better in terms of ratings. Now on its second season, the show has an average of 0.9 rating and a total of 2.06 million viewers. The series revolves around Liz Moore, played by actress Rose McIver, a medical resident turned zombie who works in a morgue. She uses the images she receives from the brains she feeds on, then helps to solve murder cases.

The comedy debuted on October 12 this year while iZombie is currently on its 2nd season, which aired on October 6. Both shows are aired on CW. Crazy Ex-Girlfriend airs every Monday at 8 p.m. and iZombie airs every Tuesday at 9 p.m.

CW's lineup is packed come midseason considering it has two new series coming up, 'Containment' a drama based on a Belgian TV series 'Cordon,' and 'Legends of Tomorrow,' which is another spinoff of DC's 'Arrow.'
