The news fans have been waiting for has finally arrived as The CW Network finally confirmed the premiere date of their sci-fi series "The 100" season 3.

IGN reported that "The 100" season 3 will premiere will debut on January 21, 2016 and it is the same night the network will air the pilot episode for the show "Legends of Tomorrow." The two shows is reported to air on a Thursday night and with that, "The Vampire Diaries" season 7 and "The Originals" season 3 will move to a new timeslot on Friday nights. The two vampire shows will replace "America's Next Top Model" which is now on its last season and "Reign" season 3.

Meanwhile it was earlier reported that major changes will be happening when "The 100" will return for season 3. It was revealed that the show will continue where it left off in the season 2 finale and it was reported that new alliances and relationships may exist in the new season. It was confirmed that Alycia Debnam-Carey will be reprising her role as Alexa and she revealed that Alexa is still in love with Clarke played by Eliza Taylor.

Aside from that, the fans will also get so see the Ice Queen who will be played Brenda Strong. This is one of the major characters that were only hinted at in the past and now it was confirmed that the character will be making an appearance in season 3. Latin Post also reported that the show will also feature an imminent death of a major character. This was revealed over the summer when Aaron Ginsburg posted on his Twitter account that there will be an episode that will feature a lot of blood and he added that it belongs to a fan favorite character.

"The 100" season 3 will air on The CW after the pilot episode of "Legends of Tomorrow" on January 21, 2016.
