Game developer DICE has announced earlier this week that its popular sci-fi shooter "Star Wars Battlefront" will be receiving a new DLC. The company said that the game's upcoming DLC is actually inspired from "The Battle of Jakku." Aside from this, a new map will also be introduced into the game and at the same a 40-player mode which is called a "Turning Point," a report from Gamespot said on Wednesday.

"In Turning Point, Rebels must locate Empire bases to attack and ultimately gain control of them. There are three Imperial bases on the new Jakku map. If the Rebels capture one, more time is added to the clock and new bases become available. The end goal is to capture the Empire's third base "where the final stand will take place," the report said.

DICE said that in capturing bases, players will find it "increasingly challenging" especially when matches heat up. It was said that if the Rebels have captured an Imperial base, the Empire forces won't be able to reclaim the base. This means that both opposing teams will have to make some necessary choices.

"Let's say there's only 25% left of the claim process and the Empire has managed to drive away the Rebels. This means that the Empire has to choose between defending this vulnerable point or another part of the map," lead level designer Dennis Brännvall said as quoted in the report.

"Arriving December 1 for pre-ordering customers and a week later for the rest, the Force Awakens-inspired DLC features the new game that challenges players to locate and capture three Empire bases. Time is added to the clock every time a new base is taken, with the difficulty set to rise every time the Rebels move to capture another. Moving on to Turning Points last Empire base will trigger a final stand scenario, while the mode will also include airspeeders and defensive AT-STs," Express UK said.
