Thank you, Pandora!
The British singer-songwriter finally agreed to have her record-breaking latest album "25" be streamed via Pandora. Pandora posted the great news on their Twitter account saying, "Songs from #Adele25 are now playing. Start your @Adele station now: https://pdora.co/1KuIrf4." A picture of the album cover accompanied the tweet.
Adele's "25" has been breaking records everywhere. The album sales from its release is now at 2.4 million copies. The music video for her first single "Hello" has also reached more than 400 million views in just a month, reports Mashable.
A statement from Pandora says, "It is clear radio listeners love Adele and are coming to Pandora to enjoy her incredible music. Since 'Hello' was added to our platform last month, her total station adds are up 1200%. Within that same timeframe, spins for 'Hello' are more than 5x the number for the next most popular song 'Someone Like You.'"
According to Billboard, Lars Murray, the SVP of the Pandora Music Makers Group said, "Listeners flock to Pandora to hear their favorite music. The Thumb Hundred is unique in radio. It isn't a list of what Pandora told people to listen to, it's a true reflection of what more than 78 million monthly listeners told us their top songs for the year are, through every single thumb up."
"25" is the latest album by British singer-songwriter Adele after her almost 4-year hiatus to raise her son. During the production of the album, Adele experienced a lot of writer's block and had multiple rescheduled recording sessions. According to Adele, the record is her reflection and state of mind at 25 years old. It is also tagged as a "make up" record. The lyrics of the songs on the new record contains nostalgic elements where in she recalls memories and tries to recall the past while moving on. All songs were co-written by Adele and with other songwriters like Bruno Mars, Ryan Tedder and Max Martin.
