The Grammy Award winner singer-songwriter Sarah McLachlan has listed her 4.3 acres property in Whistler Canada for $10.1 million or 13.5 million Canadian dollars, LA Times reports.
Situated in the Stonebridge area of a resort town in British Columbia, the mezzo-soprano singer was reportedly very much involved in the building, design, and finish of her custom retreat house; a great bonus if you are a fan of hers and are looking to find a property around this area.
Outside, the boulder-lined driveway is directed towards the lodge-like stone-and-wood house that boasts a magnificent arching roof. Like a beautiful painting, it blends with the picturesque evergreen backdrop that turns into that of the inside of a Christmas snowball when the weather drops.
Past the main door is an open-plan area that houses the living and dining spaces. The vast and open space is given character by the massive stone fireplace in one spot, vaulted wood ceilings, and glass walls that invites the scenic view outside. There is so much space in this room that it still has plenty to give way for a grand piano.
All in all, this gated home offers 8,300 square feet of living space which also comes with a home theater, a wine room, and a gym. An eat-in kitchen that's lined with two long windows in both sides features an island and dramatic ceiling beams. This property is ready for sleepovers with its detached guesthouse.
The 47-year-old pop, rock, and ballad singer have had successful songs and albums which garnered her two Grammy Awards in 1997 for her album "Surfacing". After two years, she added another one of such accolade for her "I Will Remember You" performance.
McLachlan just released her album last year with a title "Shine On". She also plays several music instruments such as guitar, harp, and keyboards.
Her custom retreat in Canada is being listed by Jordan Cohen of Re/Max Olson & Associates.
Sarah McLachlan has a net worth of $35 million.
