Joey Feek's will live as strong as her faith. She has been diagnosed with stage 4 cancer, which is the reason why she had gone through surgery, radiation and chemotherapy. In a heart wrenching moment, doctors have told Rory Feek, her husband, that nothing else can be done for her so the couple agreed to terminate the treatments.
As such, she was transferred to a hospice care. But in a promising post in his blog, This Life I Live, Rory shared that his wife is not giving up the battle and she has once again shown her strength. He proudly shared how "sharp and clear she is and oh, so, so beautiful." Her pain, for the most part, is also controlled by medicine and has had an incredible few days.
Rory, perhaps due to experience, wants to shine light on the realities of hospice, People reports. "The word 'hospice' makes us all think the worst," he posted. "The end. Or at least, the end is very close. I think, like me, most people probably think when they hear that word that it means that the family must be gathered around their loved one ... watching them say their final words and breathing their last breath. And I'm sure in some cases, it probably happens that way. But last year when my mother was dying of cancer, after hospice was brought in, Mom lived another three or four more months before she breathed her last."
Joey has made great progress in the last couple of days, Rory furthered shared. Another thing he openly wrote on his blog is the discussion they have made about how much is too much to share with the public. The loving and proud husband admitted that he has been very careful. Joey, despite the battling she's bravely fighting, simply wants to be remembered not as a cancer patient but as a loving mother, a devoted wife, and a singer of songs.
Surely, she would be. Fans, family and friends wish the best for Joey, who has a 21-month old daughter, Indiana.
